Mr. Coffee Bean - 15 Years Old

Mr. Coffee Bean was picked up as a stray from animal care and control. Although he was already fixed and microchipped (the phone number was not in service) nobody came to claim him. He started out with three strikes… He was a senior at 12 years old, he was deaf, and he had horrible arthritis.with muscle wasting. These are the sort of characteristics most people don’t look for when adopting. It started to look like he might linger in the shelter for a very long time. Thank goodness animal care and control reached out to Mr. Jojo’s. Initially we did not have room, but as it goes with a senior sanctuary we had a space open within a week of the request.

We quickly named this sweet guy Mr. coffee Bean. No special reason, other than our love for coffee! Mr. coffee bean is the perfect gentleman. He is sweet and laid-back. He loves to lay in the middle of the action, often being stepped on or walked over by our little blind residents, but he could care less. He is just happy to stretch out his legs and take a long nap.

We went to work right away on his skin issues, arthritis and nutrition. He is a funny guy who has really come to life. When it’s time to go for a walk he will start jumping up and down because he so excited and can’t wait to go! He quickly went from short, slow walks to longer and faster ones. He continued to build his muscles and gain much needed weight through a good diet and lots of exercise. Easy-going Mr. coffee Bean is perfectly content with his three favorite things: food, walks, naps, and a good ear and head massage!
